Part Time Pottery Classes Jennie runs these weekly classes in 3 ten week terms throughout the year.
Jennie's classes have been running for 12 years.
With just 8 students at a time in a modern studio, students get a concentrated experience of practical pottery and superior teaching. Jennie teaches both hand-building and throwing using the now famous Donyatt clay. At the end of each 10 week term there is a wood-firing or two, for which students have glazed and decorated their work. Some students also get involved with packing and firing.
Wood-firing is a special way of working and though used by many more potters than say 20 years ago, is still unusual as the main stay of finishing work in a teaching situation. Wood firing has been the speciality of Ridge Pottery from the start in Queen Camel in 1977.
